Thank a Teacher Day

18th June 2018

On Friday 22nd June it is #ThankATeacherDay in the UK, and here at The Week Junior we believe that teachers deserve more than just one single day of the year to be thanked for all their hard work. That’s why we feature a "Teacher of the Week" section every week to give a special shout out to the educators that truly make a difference to their students.

So far we've celebrated 132 teachers and counting! To mark Thank a Teacher Day 2018 we're taking a look back at some of our favourite Teachers of the Week and some of the lovely things their pupils have said about them.

Mrs Harris Teacher of the Week

Mrs Harris, Norton-sub-Hamdon Primary School in Somerset, who was nominated because "she is kind, helpful and thoughtful. Sadly, she is retiring at the end of the year, but she has taught at the school for 25 years. We're sure everyone she teaches will agree with us that she is amazing!"

Mr Howden Teacher of the Week

Mr Howden from Thaxted Primary School in Essex, who's awesome because "he always knows what's cool, but we always cringe when he says stuff like "yo" and "sup"".

Mrs Burgess Teacher of the Week

Mrs Burgess from Brinsworth Manor Infant School in Rotherham, who "is the best teacher ever because she explains things in an easy way that everybody can understand. She is kind and funny and is good at helping other kids and helping them to get on with their work and put 100% effort in."

We can’t wait to thank even more amazing teachers. If you know some students who would like to nominate their teacher, get in touch with us at hello@theweekjunior.co.uk.

All we need from them is the teacher's name, school address, the child's first name and their year group, as well as a couple of sentences explaining why they are nominating their teacher and a picture of the teacher.
